Tom Wallace "Artist of the Year 2007" passed away on June 24.  This was a great loss to the art community and for everyone who knew him.  He was a wonderful man who touched the life of everyone he met.  He had a wonderful positive attitude toward life.  Most of all he lived by the "old cowboy code of life" worked hard, devoted husband, loving brother, loyal friend, honest, dependable and kind.  He could be tough if needed, but was always fair. Tom had a positive attitude toward life and treated people with a  great courtesy that is unusual in this day.  Even his pets were loved and greatly cared for.  Tom was an all around good person.

The art of Tom Wallace brings to life the sights and scenes of his life in the western United States. Distant hills, open range, sparkling streams, places the American cowboy rode, the scenery of his youth. Although he and his wife Sarah presently live elsewhere, his heart still remains where he lived and traveled for many years, with camera and sketch pad always by his side. With hundreds of photographs and sketches he is able to paint the scenery that he loves, but with every opportunity, he still travels back for fresh inspiration and material.

Wallace's interest in art began at an early age, having been fortunate enough to have a father who was a painter. This early introduction to art led him to pursue studies on his own, painting the local landscape of his native Texas. Most of his paintings are from places he has been and photographed, some are from memory, and some from imagination. Whatever the method in developing his ideas he still brings the viewer to experience the emotion of the places that he so obviously feels and so beautifully demonstrates through his work.

Oh, and just an aside, Wallace has won many awards.
